About Mound City

Caroline’s Farmhouse is located in Mound City, Arkansas surrounded by wide open spaces of farmland facing the Mississippi River levee. This farm has been in production since the early 1800’s and is the closest working farm to downtown Memphis.

Mound City sits on 500 acres of private space ready for our guests to explore. The Harahan Bridge now accommodates a spectacular pedestrian and bicycle crossing connecting Arkansas and Tennessee, easily accessible from the house.

Mound City is named for the Indian Mounds that the original farm was built on and was an important trading town and ferry landing directly across the river from Memphis during the 1800’s. Mound City was a storage and staging area for furs, livestock, cotton and other goods that were being traded along the Mississippi River. The old plantation’s headquarters feature several old cypress structures that were built in the early 1900’s. The commissary and sharecropper houses are original to the farm and have been completely restored without losing their original charm. The property is available as a unique venue for parties and special events.

If you want memories to cherish for a lifetime, make them at Mound City. With indoor and outdoor accommodations and unique Delta backdrops everywhere you look, you won’t find a more fitting venue for your special occasion.
