Basic Grits

Ingredients
  

  • 1 Cup Mound City Stone Ground Grits
  • 1 tsp Black Pepper
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 5 Cups Stock water optional, substitute 1-2 cups of milk or half and half for a creamier result
  • 1 tbsp butter

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 300
  • Combine all ingredients in a 2-3 quart saucepan and bring to a rolling boil. Cover and move to the oven for 1.5 -2 hours. Stir lightly after 1 hour.
