Cheese Grits

  • 1 cup stone ground white grits
  • 4 cups stock or water
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 cup half and half
  • 8 oz Velveeta cheese
  • 1 tbsp parmesan cheese


  • Preheat oven to 300
  • Combine the grits, stock/water, salt, pepper and butter in a saucepan, bring to a boil then cover and simmer on low heat for 20 minutes. 
  • Add the half and half, Velveeta, and parmesan cheese. Stir over medium heat until velveeta is melted and well mixed. Bring to simmer.
  • Spray a 8-10” casserole dish with Pam then pour the grits into the casserole dish and bake at 300 for an hour.
