BASIC GRITS
Basic Grits
Ingredients
- 1 Cup Mound City Stone Ground Grits
- 1 tsp Black Pepper
- 1 tsp salt
- 5 Cups Stock water optional, substitute 1-2 cups of milk or half and half for a creamier result
- 1 tbsp butter
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 300
- Combine all ingredients in a 2-3 quart saucepan and bring to a rolling boil. Cover and move to the oven for 1.5 -2 hours. Stir lightly after 1 hour.
